WHAT ABOUT DWAYNE WADE

With all the talk about Lebron James being the greatest thing since sliced bread, I am left wondering why everyone has forgotten so quickly about Dwayne Wade's great playoff run last year. The guy averaged 28.4 ppg while shooting 50% from the floor. He was great every game unlike Lebron who disappeared in game 1,2,&6 against the Pistons. Wade also came back from injury in game 3 against those same Pistons and led his team to victory. NBA writers seem to have short term memory deficiency if they think Lebron put up the greatest performance since Jordan's last title run. I know their is a dying need to create an epic story any chance we can, but lets not do it at the expense of something really great, like Dwayne Wade's title run last season. Lets save the superlatives annointing the greatness of Lebron till he has actually won a title, and lets not even dare put him in same sentence as Magic, Bird, and Jordan, cause those guys did it year after year.

I couldn't agree more Tim...

I too was wondering why everyone is already annointing Lebron James the savior of the NBA? I completely agree, what he did will be remembered for ages and he will eventually go down as one of the best to ever play the game but aren't we being a little premature in annointing him the next great thing when he only had one great game?

The thing that separates the greats is that they follow up a performance for the ages with a game that confirmed what we had seen the previous game. That is why they were so great, they didn't need a rookie selected in the 2nd round to bail them out. It is amazing how quickly people have forgotten what Dwayne Wade did in last years playoffs. He only averaged 28 pts a game while shooting 50% form the field, 5 rebounds and 6 assists a game. He showed up and played in 23 games. Lebron was a contributor but didn't have "superstar" performances in games 1,2, and 6 of this series against the Pistons. I would make the arguement that Wade's performance in game 3 of the NBA finals was as impressive if not more impressive because his team was down double digits in with less than 7 minutes to go, they were on the verge of going down 3 games to 0 which would've ended their chances of winning an NBA title, and no one on his team had shown up. He finished with 42 points, 6 less than Lebron without the two overtimes, 15 of his 42 points came in the 4th quarter. He followed that game up with 36 points and then had 43 in the next two games to put his team in position to win their first title.

Lebron hasn't even suited up for a single game in the finals yet and here we are claiming that he will rule the eastern conference for 10+ years. Wade won one and if he hadn't gotten hurt I would make the arguement that he would be suiting up in his second.

I understand the magnitude of Lebron's performance, it will probably never be done again but until he shows me that he can do it night in and night out, have that killer mentality, I would rather have Dwayne Wade on my roster.

P.S. Wade had the third highest scoring average ever by a player in his first NBA Finals, 34.7 points per game.

It has to be money driven. They have to spice up what will be a pretty dull series compared to last year's finals. Spread the word. Dwayne Wade is the truth. If the team with him and Lamar odom, C.Butler, Udonis, and Skip to my Lou had not been broken up they would have still won the championship. Shaq isn't stupid, he saw a good thing here.
